With our continued theme, "Sustaining Our Culture," we continue our long tradition of supporting our American Indian students by honoring their contribution to the University and community.  The powwow also brings awareness to the needs and concerns of American Indian students in the larger University structure who strive to maintain their cultural identity through student involvement and social gatherings.  Moreover, the powwow provides an opportunity for the community to learn about the history and culture of American Indians through our Head Staff who will provide history, significance, and powwow etiquette throughout the various powwow songs and dances.  Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for the community, faculty, students, and families to come together and unite in song and dance and it is our hope that all attendees will leave with a better understanding and appreciation of American Indian culture and tradition.  Please contact itsa.uofu@gmail.com for more information.
